good it must be isolated on my computer. opacity is the only attribute on my computer i've noticed that has no effect. what do you all think could be wrong? i dont know but my guesses are: -i didnt compile iup correctly (maybe missing a dependency?) -libraries for opacity not getting loaded in linker. i compiled with: cc -o out in.c "$IUPLIBFOLDER/libiup.a" $(pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0 gdk-2.0) -maybe a random bug in the version of gtk i have thanks for clearing up the C question.
