Thank you everyone for the suggestions I will try it out. I had missed
iuploopstep function. Right now to solve my problem what I had done was to
create a time and when I wanted to process the GUI controls I would start
the timer and call iupmainloop. The timer when expired stopped itself and
returned IUP_CLOSE.
I will replace this arrangement with the simpler iuploopstep.
