G'day,
The "Build under GNU/Linux (Ubuntu as reference)" documentation is
now out-of-date, since fftw has been added.
Please add:
fftw
fftw-devel
to the dependency packages for IM.
Also, I note that there has been a burst of changes in the last day
or so... e.g. PDFLib moved out of CD (? PDFLib Lite 7.0.5?). I
apologise for being lazy and not checking whether the changes build
cleanly under GNU/Linux immediately (will wait for a little while to
let the dust settle), but does this change the way that CD is built,
especially for a Ubuntu reference platform? (And if so, could you
please keep the GNU/Linux documentation up-to-date...)
--------
[The above message has stirred up a few neurons in the back of my
brain:]
I note that both CD and IUP use ftgl... CD has it in-tree, whereas IUP
packages ftgl separately with each release. I've been repeatedly using
"EXCLUDE_TARGETS=iupvled" since this target fails without a top-level
ftgl build.
So... is there any commonality between "top-level" builds, apart from
the "big four": (LuaX.Y/, IM/, CD/, IUP/)?
I note that zlib is still in the tree, but sometimes it is linked as an
external library. If other packages are being shuffled, is it worth
shuffling zlib also?
--------
Thanks in advance for any consideration. If the non-IUP-related stuff
belongs on another mailing list (cd-l and/or im-l), please let me know.
cheers,
sur-behoffski (Brenton
