Hi, LuaRocks is a distribution system based on source files. So you select which packages you want, download them, and build them from sources. This requires a build configuration that's compatible with what's expected by LuaRocks. Vcpkg also has the same purpose and constraints. Both are listed on our "To Do's" page. We would like in the near future to provide support for them. That's why one of our priorities now is to provide CMake configuration files for IUP, CD and IM. But that's not ready yet.
On the other hand nothing stops you from using IUP along with any LuaRocks packages. IupLua pre-compiled dynamic libraries will work, they just may need some configuration on the Lua environment. We describe that in the IUP documentation. You don't need to necessarily build IUP from sources. If you have any issues, please let me know and I can provide some assistance.
