IupAnimatedLabel apparently is not an independent process and therefore cannot multitask, i.e. -- the first frame of the IUP_CircleProgressAnimation displays, but no animation occurs when the control is called from a function with lots of code being executed (more specifically, with code that is calling external functions like reading/writing to files, calling external commands, etc).
