I've installed igbinary via pecl. I would have thought that if the memcached module was built with igbinary support enabled but igbinary was not installed that it would try other serializers until it hit php. See notes for memcached.serializer directive in: https://github.com/php-memcached-dev/php-memcached/blob/master/memcached.ini
If igbinary is not a dependency to build with support for it enabled, then the additional module would only be required to gain the functionality. Installation could still be accomplished via pecl or even source without the need for ius to maintain another module. Just throwing it out there. If there's no problem with adding igbinary to ius then that would probably be the best way to go. But this may be an option if ongoing maintenance in the repo is an issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of IUS Core Development, which is subscribed to IUS Community Project. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1374601 Title: WL: php55u-pecl-memcached with igbinary support Status in IUS Community Project: New Bug description: Please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ius/+bug/1258608 regarding this module.
