Hi Paul, From: Hanchett, Paul [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, August 29, 2013 5:17 PM To: VanCutsem, Geoffroy Cc: venkat; [email protected]; UM-PD-Engineering-Electrical-Infotainment-Portland Subject: Re: Building Tizen IVI 3.0 locally with gbs
Geoffroy-- Is there any reason whoever renamed the package couldn't have also fixed the manifest? Doesn't it seem like an incompletely done task? [Geoffroy] No particular reason... it felt through the cracks. Keep in mind as I mentionned that these manifest files (and the repo tool) is a fairly new thing in Tizen so I consider this one of the expected initial glitch... something we need to learn from to improve the process. In the interest of process improvement, if I make a change like this is there a way for me to test the resulting build? Was that done in this case? :-) [Geoffroy] That's more like a rethorical question, isn't it? ;-) Perhaps I'm asking for too much? [Geoffroy] I don't believe so, I think it's a reasonable expectation that we improve our process to make them more robust over time. I don't think there will ever be a perfect process (just like I've yet to see a 100% bug-free program) but we should certainly strive to improve where we uncover gaps and shortcomings.
