Hi all, I have been working my way through the Tizen security architecture/documentation, and can see that Tizen is well supplied with access control mechanisms and authentication mechanisms.
However, I’m drawing a blank on data-at-rest protection ( i.e. disk/partition/directory/file encryption ) . I’m looking for things like loop-AES, dm-crypt, or even ‘higher level’ things like eCryptfs. The use case, very roughly, is to be able to secure personally identifiable information, with an eye to support of different ‘user profiles’ ( whether that really requires the OS to support multiple users from the OS perspective is an interesting point, but not essential to this question ). I have seen support for secure devices ( e.g. SIMs ), and a hint that apps can specify that their sources are encrypted, but that’s not what I’m looking for. I have seen the ‘VFS’ filesystem model described, and I wonder how that model might affect an attempt to use loop-AES for example. So, what approach does Tizen have to data-at-rest security ?
