Hi folks, It was brough to my attention VMware Fusion (on Mac OS) does not offer the ability to add a Virtual Disk as an *IDE* drive. This causes our Tizen IVI image to fail to boot and the typical sympton is the following error message appearing on the screen: drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0) Note: you would also see that in VMware Player or Workstation if you left the Hard Disk type to SCSI (default).
I have added some notes on the Tizen IVI 3.x in VMware<https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_3.0_VMware> section that explain how to work around this issue by installing a new kernel with a slightly different config on the Tizen IVI 3.0-M2-EOY<https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_January_15,_3.0-M2-EOY> image. I'm actually delighted to report that we now have a solution to that problem and I have updated the wiki page with information on how you can modify the latest Tizen IVI 3.0-M2-EOY<https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_January_15,_3.0-M2-EOY> preview to enable just that. Please refer to the Tizen IVI 3.x in VMware<https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_3.0_VMware> wiki page and the Tizen IVI 3.0-M2-EOY<https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_3.0_VMware#Tizen_IVI_3.0-M2-EOY> section in particular. Please let me know if you have any questions on that. Cheers, Geoffroy Intel Corporation NV/SA Kings Square, Veldkant 31 2550 Kontich RPM (Bruxelles) 0415.497.718.
