In most cases the “failed to build” packages described in 1) below (and logged in the download builddata repo), are packages not used by IVI. OBS does try to build every package in Tizen including many not used by IVI. The “packages” file in the image directory shows the packages included in the image by default. Any failure of the packages used in the IVI image (or any of the key IVI add-ons like ICO) is escalated for quick resolution.

These images have been mainly built off released code in OBS. Use repo to get the current package repositories and to keep them up to date. 3. Use GBS to rebuild only the packages you want to work on. Not clear to me how to handle it if the package you want to work on is one of those that fail to build... 4. Use the resulting RPM to update the image you got, above. Other work models are possible but won't integrate into the flow of the team and aren't supported here. Good luck!
