Hi Max, I have posted some comments that can hopefully help you understand what is going on.
In the case of VMware, I can play video files using gst-play-1.0 or gst-launch-1.0, there is no HW acceleration though as this is provided through the gstreamer-vaapi plugins which do not work in an emulated environment such as VMware or QEMU. gst-play-1.0 (or playbin) will in these cases fall back to using the SW decode elements such as provided by gst-libav (e.g. avdec_h264). I cannot play video files from the HTML5 MediaPlayer either from VMware... this must be linked to how the Tizen WRT (webkit-efl) creates the Gstreamer pipeline (wild guess). One more thing, the H264 codec go to HW decodes it might be this reason. -Zhigang From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Yu, Max A Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2014 4:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Multimedia stack We’d like to get more information about video (and audio) playback in Tizen IVI.
