Hi Max,

I have posted some comments that can hopefully help you understand what is
going on.

In the case of VMware, I can play video files using gst-play-1.0 or
gst-launch-1.0, there is no HW acceleration though as this is provided through
the gstreamer-vaapi plugins which do not work in an emulated environment such
as VMware or QEMU. gst-play-1.0 (or playbin) will in these cases fall back to
using the SW decode elements such as provided by gst-libav (e.g. avdec_h264).

I cannot play video files from the HTML5 MediaPlayer either from VMware... this
must be linked to how the Tizen WRT (webkit-efl) creates the Gstreamer pipeline
(wild guess).

Almost media content mentioned in this bug could work in Tizen IVI.

One more thing, the H264 codec go to HW decodes it might be this reason.

We’d like to get more information about video (and audio) playback in Tizen
IVI. Anybody have comments on this?

Thanks,

Max
