The Tizen IVI team is pleased to announce the completion of our next milestone release, Tizen IVI 3.0 M3 June 2014 for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI). We are also excited to announce the release of the Tizen IVI SDK Alpha 3 for In-Vehicle Infotainment available at: https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/Tizen_IVI_SDK.
With this release Tizen IVI is using the Tizen 3.0 Common code base. The Wayland based Weston compositor version 1.5.0 includes two new extensions: xdg-shell and ivi-shell (GENIVI Layer Manager API). The graphics stack is based on Mesa 10.x. GUI toolkits have been upgraded to EFL 1.9.3 and QT 5.3. The former web runtime version Webkit-EFL has been replaced with Crosswalk (http://www.crosswalk-project.org) . Audio was upgraded to Pulseaudio 5.0 and the Resource Policy Manager Engine, Murphy, supports the new web runtime engine. SyncEvolution version 1.4.99.2 offers enhanced Google CardDAV support. Porting Modello (Tizen IVI HTML5 Sample UI) to Crosswalk is on track to be completed by the Tizen IVI 3.0 Final release scheduled for Q1 2015.
