I have just submitted a patch which tries to
initialise the 350’s decoder when the driver is loaded so that the yuv/xv
playback should work without playing any files. The mpeg file it plays is the smallest one I can
create that kicks things into life. Doing a make install should copy this into /lib/modules
unless you are using hotplug to load firmware at which point it will display a
message asking you to manually copy it since I’m not sure how to work out
where to copy it to for all distributions. Any problems let me know. Hans I’m not sure if doing this like
this is compatible with the long term goals of incorporating it into the kernel
but the mpeg file seemed a bit too large to include as a lump of binary data in
the driver but I’m open to doing it differently if there is a better way. |
