I believe this is because (I think) MPEG-2 audio isn't standard for most DVD Players... at least in NTSC land, the default encoding is AC3.

Ok i've confirmed that it is MP2 audio, but my DVD player doesn't appear to like it. Very odd. Is there an easy way to change the bit rate for the captured audio?
