I have been using the external input with a PVR150 for a while. The second s-video and composite were mapped to the internal connector as well as audio routed properly through the adc sound chip second input. I think the actual input should be abstracted from the cx25840 module and specified directly with the actual chip inputs instead (3 adcs + how they should be used). The mapping from s-video luma/chroma pins should happen outside the cx25840 module in the card specific parts since the card is what decides how things are wired.
