---------------------
This should work if you do it exactly and nothing else. You didn't
install from there as well, did you? (I'm assuming that .config file is
correct.)
------------------------

.config came from the knoppmyth install. That's all I did. As soon as
I did all hell broke loose. I suppose the r4v5 screwed up somehow.

I think im going to put that spit and bailing wire install I pieced
together to rest and start over. It breaks every week or so. I think
it may be broken for good now.

I just finished doing a real install of debian on a spare hard drive I
had laying around. It is the base install + checking the desktop, web,
file server, and database checked. The database turned out to be
postgres so I uninstalled it. I know mysql better and how it is setup
for mythtv. That is pretty much it.

I have none of the mythtv prereqs. I decided to try to do a quick
compile of the drivers to see how much was missing and I get the
following error.

/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/build/.config: No such file or directory

That, I assume, is supposed to point to the .config that is used to
rebuild kernel as is. It doesn't exist. How do you get it?

Also, semi unrelated, the debian apt package repository for mythtv no
longer exists. Is there a substitute or is it dead? I would like to
compile myth myself this time, but it would make it easier to get all
the darn dependencies worked out before then.
