[Maybe this should have gone to -devel, not -users.  Something I
failed to mention there---this is -not- a Macrovision issue, since
the box I'm having trouble with has had no trouble in being recorded
by numerous VCR's for the past several years.  Macrovision would have
prevented that from working.  Since it's only manifested itself with
PVR-x50 inputs, I suspect something there.  The flashing is also
irregular; it may average 1Hz, but sometimes it'll go several seconds
before flipping one way or the other.  Tnx!]

In Myth 0.18.1, ivtv 0.4.1-r1:

I'm trying to use the composite inputs on some PVR-250's.  On every
input I've tried (both the built-in input and the A/V cable-kit input
on one -250, and the built-in input on another), from one of my cable
boxes, I get video that rapidly flashes (at about 1 Hz) between color
and black & white.  This video looks just fine if it goes to a VCR or
straight to a TV.

So something's marginal, and I'd like to figure out how to fix it.
Is there some flag I can set in ivtv?  Could the first box be
producing some sort of marginal signal that ivtv can clean up?

Here's debugging output from ivtv 0.4.1 with debug=1 in my
/etc/modprobe.d/iviv.  It looks very different from the RF-in
case (e.g., I don't see anything mumbling about NTSC, etc).
