Could be an interaction between the X-driver and the frame buffer.

The problem occurs normally when going back a menu. mplayer at this time is not being used. It's one of these intermittent problems that are difficult to track down. Shame I can't figure out how to get a core dump, there is quite a bit of disk activity during the crash, like it's dumping a core file. >John > > > >>-----Original Message----- >>From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:ivtv-devel- >>[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Duncan Webb >>Sent: 17 January 2006 07:00 >>To: Discussion list for development of the IVTV driver >>Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] ivtv-0.4.2 broken xdriver >> >>John Harvey wrote: >> >> >> >>>If X is crashing there should be something in the X log file >>>(/var/log/Xorg....) >>>Can you send a copy of that. >>> >>> >>> >>> >>I have checked the xorg logs and there were no errors except of course >>(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such file or directory) >>(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)Framebuffer id from dev /dev/fb1is 1 >>(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)open /dev/video48 returned 8 >>(EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)get_fb returned 0 fbid 1 >> >>dmesg showed nothing either. >> >>best would be a core dump... >> >> >> >>> >>> >>>>-----Original Message----- >>>>From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:ivtv-devel- >>>>[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Duncan Webb >>>>Sent: 16 January 2006 21:09 >>>>To: Discussion list for development of the IVTV driver >>>>Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] ivtv-0.4.2 broken xdriver >>>> >>>>John Harvey wrote: >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>>>What crashes? >>>>>X or the ivtv driver. >>>>>I'm assuming it's X that is crashing.
