Thanks to all the people who reported their test results. The new tuner 
specification looks to be OK. The reported problems with certain 
channels all are away from the frequency band boundaries as far as I 
can tell so they do not appear to be related to this tuner spec.

In my experience the PVR-500 is much more sensitive to the antenna 
signal quality compared to the PVR-350 and this is even more true for 
tuner 2 (extra interference?). A good antenna amplifier fixed the 
problems for me.

Anyway, the fixed Samsung tuner specification should be part of 2.6.16 
(I've mailed the patch against the latest 2.6.16-rc2 to the v4l-dvb 
maintainer for inclusion in the next batch of patches for 2.6.16).
