I'm using IVTV 0.4.0 with Gentoo 2.6.14 I think I'm having the same problem with the PVR500MCE as others have described. I don't have expanded cable and can't check channels above 60 or so, but as far as the lower channels go, channel 5 is crystal clear but in black and white, channel 6 is intermittently color and frequently black and white (but weak signal on this channel), while channels 2-4, and 7+ are all correctly in color.
I tried tuner type 50 today, with same results with B&W on channels 5-6. I can't comment on the clarity of the signal.
