I reinstalled my backend tonight. I am running FC4 with the latest kernel (2.6.15-1.1831_FC4smp). I have installed ivtv 0.4.3 from ATRPMS testing and I am using MythTV 1.9 using RPMs from ATRPMS testing.
If you want to enable the testing branch for ATRPMS, do the following: vi /etc/yum.repos.d/atrpms.repo In the testing section of the atrpms.repo file make your enabled=1 like below: I followed the instructions in the Fedora Myth Howto: http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php, and the IVTV Fedora Install: http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Howto:Fedora. It looks like the Fedora Myth Howto has been updated a little as well. Afterwards I had to update my modprobe manually, but I did _NOTHING_ with modules or firmware. I have no problems with the tuning like I used to have before channel 45 is clear and I get channel 7 now. I have done no recompile and my card is working right out of the box with the TCPN tuner. The ivtv RPM version is called ivtv-0.4.2-102.rhfc4.at [atrpms] name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/fc$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/stable enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms [atrpms-testing] name=ATrpms test packages for Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/fc$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/testing enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms My modprobe looks like: alias char-major-81 videodev alias char-major-81-0 ivtv alias char-major-81-1 ivtv alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv alias tuner tuner-ivtv alias tda9887 tda9887-ivtv alias msp3400 msp3400-ivtv dmesg looks like: Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: version 0.4.3 (development snapshot compiled on Tue Feb 14 19:47:21 2006) loading Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.15-1.1831_FC4smp SMP 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.0 Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with Feb 15 00:08:54 mythbackend kernel: ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.
