Hi all,

It's time for my periodic progress update. Unfortunately, there hasn't
been as much progress as I'd hoped. I'm still working on the msp3400
driver to fix a serious design fault. It's now pretty much done, but
the next step is to let the drivers that use the msp3400 implement the
new design. That requires some careful programming. Unfortunately I had
no chance to work on it the last two weekends and the next two are also
booked already.

I am glad other people stepped in and are answering questions on the
mailinglists as I simply do not have the time for that anymore. Thank
you all!

Once I have the msp3400 situation sorted (it's not only this chip, other
drivers have similar design flaws but the impact is much less for those
chips), then I can probably begin preparing ivtv for inclusion into the
kernel.

The merge of the Japanese drivers is also coming along nicely. The code
has been improved substantially. There are still some finishing touches
to be made, but nothing major except for the saa717x.c module. That one
needs more work. Many thanks to T.Adachi for his work on these drivers!

So basically it is still work in progress.

Regards,

        Hans
