I'm experiencing the same problem with low color levels, nearing almost
black and white. When setting the color saturation all the way up it's ok
for a while, but it always return to some lower setting.
I've upgraded last week from mythtv 0.18 to mythtv 0.19. Then I noticed the
color saturation problem. So I decided to upgrade ivtv from 4.0 to 4.2,
which didn't help.
When running ivtvctl -Y it show that Saturation = 63 when doing a channel
change, when I manually run ivtvctl -y saturation=127 the color are ok, but
after a channel change it back to 63 again.
Has something changed between version with the conversion from input to
register output, or is it something with myth.
Some other thing I noticed is that Brightness is set to 383 by mythtv, but
the maximum value can only be 255. So running ivtvctl -Y shows the
following:
ioctl: VIDIOC_QUERYCTRL
Brightness = 383 <- odd!?!?!
Contrast = 63
Saturation = 63
Hue = 0
Volume = 58880
Mute = 0
