problem is with the output of a PVR-350. My original question/dmesg info is

I have done a bit more reading. Can anyone confirm that I may need to
recompile my own version of the driver in order to set these registers with
this version?

Hi,
I am in the process of setting up MythTV with a Hauppage PVR-350. So far so
good. I have X showing up on my TV and the tuner and everything works.
There are two problems:
1) the colours are wrong (it's like they are inverted) desktop should be
blue, but looks yellowish brown
2) the picture is shifted. The right part of the screen shows up on the
left side, and there is a big black vertical stripe 1/3 of the way from the
left
I am using the latest FC5 (2.6.16-1.2080_FC5) and all the latest drivers
obtained using yum.
I found a posting that described what seems to be my display problems, but
when I try what is suggested as the fix, I get this:
