Regarding the lower sound output, one thing you might try is the latest cx25840 firmware. I noticed an increase in volume between an older firmware (not sure which one) and the latest. You are only one version behind the latest (16382 bytes), so I'm not sure if it will help, but it's worth a try. Jim
