You don't need to load ivtv-fb.o if you plan to operate the mythfrontend from the computer monitor. MythTV recognizes the PVR-350 and you just set the configuration for MythTV to perform playbacks on it's TV-out.
When you say it locks the console, it shouldn't lock your computer console. Maybe, I'm just misunderstanding what you are saying or asking there. If you operate mythfrontend on your computer monitor, and output the playback on the TV-out, then using the framebuffer on the PVR-350 with another X session may pose problems with either seeing the X session or seeing the video playback depending on the opaque setting you have for the framebuffer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nicholas Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Friday, September 1, 2006 3:42 pm Subject: [ivtv-devel] IVTV Frame Buffer Locks the console To: [email protected], [email protected] > Hello, > > I would like to run Tv-Out through the PVR-350 and run > X on my regular video card at the same time. > Currently when I load the ivtv_fb Frame Buffer it > locks the console.
