I just did a fresh install of fedora core 6 and upgraded to the latest
version of 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6. I am using the wilsonet guide to installing
mythtv and when I get to the part to install the ivtv drivers I am getting
an error. The drivers install properly with

yum -y install ivtv-kmdl-$KVER
and have even tried
yum install ivtv ivtv-kmdl-`uname -r`

When I do a rpm -qa | grep ivtv I get
ivtv-0.8.0-121.fc6.at
ivtv-firmware-1.8a-10.at
perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-8.fc6.at
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2849.fc6-0.8.0-121.fc6.at

When I run the command uname -r I get
2.6.18-1.2849.fc6

Now I try to load the modual with the command modeprobe ivtv and get the
following error
modprobe ivtv
FATAL: Error inserting ivtv
(/lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2849.fc6/updates/drivers/media/video/ivtv.ko):
Invalid module format

I have used this method many times and things worked fine. Is there
anything special with this kernal that I need to know about. When I
looked at the lists I could not find a similar problem.
