I made the change Hans suggested in ivtv-queue.c in 0.7.2, the version need by my FC4 kernel, and the CPU load of mythfrontend dropped from 50% to a negligible amount. So far my system seems fine. It is on line 905 not 891 as the 0.7.2 version has an additional block of code that was removed in 0.8.2. I would be interested knowing what are the consequences of making this edit.
(line 905 now reads ivtv_sleep_timeout(HZ / 100, 1); not //ivtv_sleep_timeout(HZ / 100, 1); ) Thanks Hans and others for all of your hard work on this project. James MacLaren
