I compiled this today on Ubuntu Edgy on an old Celeron I use as a Mythtv 
frontend.  Had to install most if not all of the x11proto-???-dev 
packages and relink my kernel includes.  However, it compiled just fine 
at that point.  Mythtv menus are no longer noticeably slow.  You can't 
see them drawing anymore.  So, this seems to definitely be worth the 
effort at this point.  I will do some more testing with actually 
watching video later this weekend.  I also have the new release version 
of the modules running.
