Not sure who Robert Z is but he is not the *official* maintainer of ivtv
in gentoo. They probably still don't like it but I think it is important
to point out the difference.

The ebuilds are maintained in the the media-tv herd (collection of
devs). The current listed maintainers are Doug Coldstein (cardoe) and
Steve Dibb (beandog).

There is an open bug on the gentoo bugzilla on [1] and assigned to
cardoe. Steve/Doug, CC'ing you to be sure you get this.

Hans, The archives are being digested (md5, sha and sha256) and when the
digest changes it is considered a breach in security as these should
normally not change. 

Redigesting should not be a big problem but it would be helpfull if the
firmware files are versioned. It would be a lot easier to avoid digest
issues and bumping the version in portage.
