Typo, should it not be vcs? If so, it is the virtual console device. > Any ideas? The same works with 2.6.18 and 0.10.2. Distro, release number and hotplug script? Also udev has replaced hotplug on most distro's, are you using udev or the old hotplug? (What does cat /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug say).
