The closed caption work perfectly on my PVR500 but it does not record or render onto the video frame before writing to mpeg file so I would have to find a special mpeg player that could decode the caption from mpeg along with the video.
Is there a way to tell IVTV driver to render the Closed Caption onto the video frame or insert it into the video frame somehow before it saved to mpeg? So normally called open caption meaning the caption will always be visible and I wanted to that so I could enjoy the show without having to worry if the mpeg player is going to be able to decode it property or not. I am aware that I could use some closed caption extract from mpeg then strip the mpeg of user data and then covert the extract into subtitle then write back the subtitle into the mpeg so it open subtitle but I was hoping it something that can be done via IVTV driver and I can just take mpeg and go. I travel alots and I want to bring my recorded shows with me on my laptop or view them online on any mpeg viewer.
