No, VBI has been broken on the PVR-250 and PVR-350 since the DMA  
changes in the 0.10.x driver (0.10.3 if I recall correctly). I've  
actually been tracking the current 1.x branch on my system, and it  
has improved; but if I need closed captions to work, I make sure I'm  
recording those programs on a PVR-150.
