Hans,
I too have been having this problem with one of my PVR-350's. My original
email on this situation is here (
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/ivtv/users/37540). I have upgraded to
the bleeding edge driver as you requested and managed to get the audio to
stop. When I play the video file using mplayer, the console says "Too many
video packets in the buffer: (4096 in 7990176 bytes). Maybe you are playing
a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed? For AVI files, try to
force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option." I made my recording using
Myth TV version 0.20.2-173.fc8, kernel version 2.6.24.2-10.fc8 (from
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/).

It seems like the encoder gets "confused", possibly by an unknown or
unhandled error, and the video freezes. If I skip over the video with Myth
TV, it plays fine without the audio. MPlayer continues to output the same
error message to the console. There isn't an easy way to replicate this.
It seems randomly occur on my second PVR-350. I would be glad to send you
the video file, but it is 1.9 gb in size.

I have included the output from v4l2-ctl --log-status for both cards below.
The only differences I notice in the log status are on the msp3400 revision
and the overlay. I would change my second PVR-350 overlay to match my
first, but I am unsure of command to make the change. The only changes to
my system from my previous email is that I am now using the latest version
of Myth TV from ATrpms, version 0.20.2-173.fc8 and I am using kernel version
2.6.24.2-10.fc8 from koji.

Output from v4l2-ctl --log-status --device=/dev/video0:
