I too am having this problem but with a pvr-350. The problem randomly occurs while recording analog tv using MythTV. A reboot or rmmod ivtv followed by modprobe ivtv fixes the problem. The problem happens only on the one card. I have moved pci slots in my pc and the problem stayed with the one card. The only difference I see is the status flags. For the good card it is 0x00200000 and for the bad card it is 0x40200000. When I play the file back using mplayer, I receive the following error:
Too many video packets in the buffer: (4096 in 7998444 bytes). Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed? For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option. The video plays fine, but the audio is gone. MythTV will stop playback once it hits the spot in the recording with the error. mplayer will continue to play, but with the above error being repeatedly displayed. I also notice there is an error when trying to detect the card using the eeprom. This started when Hans switched to detecting the cards using the eeprom from his old method of detecting cards. I believe this was around version 0.8. I force the values in through modprobe.conf and haven't had a problem in doing so. I have tried asking about this problem before and nothing substantial came out. I have tried the v4l drivers from hg, but still received the problem. I do not know what more I can do.
