I am using the YUV output (/dev/video48) with the ivtv cvidix driver (which is
similar to the X driver). During replay I can use the wss tool from the
ivtv-utils to send wss commands to /dev/video16 (decoder). This switches my
TV from 4:3 to a zoom modus which is useful for 4:3 letterbox. In the same
way it should be possible to switch to another wss mode (by changing the
code)

wss.c is hardcoded to use a value of 8 or 11 for buf[0].data[0]

7 = 16:9
8 = 4:3
11 = zooms a 4:3 letterbox to fit the 16:9 screen
