Thanks, Andreas. Yep, I had the kernel-built msp3400.ko out of the way,
and was using the firmware installed by the ebuild, which I confirmed
by md5sum-ing the firmware files in /lib/modules and verifying against
the Wiki. It was very strange how it just "cleared up" - for
single-headed viewing, at least. Apparently, this version of ivtv (or
at least the ivtv-fb component) doesn't play well with the nvidia
drivers, so I can't have a dual-headed system (with the nvidia output
for MAME, and the PVR-350 for MythTV, with the outputs going to two
different inputs on my TV) until this is resolved.

Does anyone here use both the nvidia (nvidia-kernel-1.0.6629) and ivtv
drivers on a dual-head system with Xorg-6.8.X?

Yesterday was not a good day... ;)

Thanks for your help!
