So now I am trying to get myth and FC2 to work. I had everything working using the at-stable version (0.1.10-48.4_pre2_ck100zz.rhfc2.at) of the IVTV driver. However, I ran into the "ivtv: needed 1 bufs for stream 0,received 0 differ by (1)" problem as documented in a previus post (http://www.poptix.net/ivtv/Dec-2004/msg00341.html). It was suggested that the solution was to use an at-testing version of the IVTV driver. So I set my /etc/apt/sources.list to at-testing, and installed the testing version of IVTV with the following commands:
apt-get install kernel-module-ivtv-`uname -r`=1:0.2.0-56_rc2z.rhfc2.at apt-get install ivtv=1:0.2.0-56_rc2z.rhfc2.at
After doing that, I ran into the same issue as I did with FC3 in that sound was not being captured. So I thought all I would have to do is copy /lib/modules/2.6.9-1.6_FC2/updates/drivers/media/video/msp3400-ivtv.ko over /lib/modules/2.6.9-1.6_FC2/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.ko, reboot, and then I would be good to go (as was the case with the FC3 install). But no such luck. I double-checked my mixer settings per http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-7.html, and found everything to be the way it is supposed to be.
Does anyone have a clue as to what I could try next?
General question about the msp3400 file: Why are some versions over 200k in size, and others about 28k?
IVTV version: ivtv-0.2.0-56_rc2z.rhfc2.at
/sbin/modinfo msp3400 output:
