There are no requirements, the datasheets are considered public, but
some have some NDA markup still, so I'm not feeling comfortable in
publicly posting them somewhere until the documents are reworked to
have these removed, but PM is OK.

Upon quick examination of the datasheets, I believe that it's possible to have better picture with the newer PVR-150 and 500. The cx2584x chip has a more advanced comb filter on it than the saa7115 used in the PVR-[23]50. It also *describes* their operation much better than the Phillips part. I was a bit underwhelmed at the lack of detail on that portion of the datasheet for the phillips. Lots of tweakability in the cx2584x so you could even get full-blown luminance capture resolution if you wanted. It might be a bit of effort to make it all go, but there are additional benefits besides cost (150) and dual tuners (500).
