[ivtv-devel] msp3400 issues

I have just setup a debian system running kernel 2.4.27 and I have tried 
to compile ivtv version 0.1.9 and I also tried 0.1.10pre2.   I get the 
same result with both of them.  Everything seems to compile without 
problems.  I have everything setup in the modules.conf but when I try to 
modprobe msp3400 I get the following error:

/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.o: 
/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.o: 
unresolved symbol exit_files_Ra784a90f

Browsing through the archives I found several references to this that 
indicated it could be caused by miss matched versions of the kernel 
image and kernel headers.   So I double checked my install and they seem 
to match.

Any ideas what the problem might be?
