Yes.
The reason I'm recommending 2.6.10 is because it ships with support for the tuner, so it eliminates the possibility of problems due to bad patch files, improperly patching the module, improperly compiling the module, improperly installing the file (the last two because the kernel's Makefile takes care of them), and having multiple tuner modules installed.
