Now that I am able to capture S-Video input on my PVR150, I'm happy to report that the captured video off of the card appears to be much crisper and cleaner in Linux than it did on Windows. I'm not sure why that may be... but the Windows version was quite pixelated, and jerky. The few underwater shots of sharks that I just test-grabbed off of the Discovery channel were eerily smooth.
The only problem, as someone had reported previously, is that the video is only in Black and White. Also, my dmesg output mentioned a missing file: /lib/modules/HcwMakoA.ROM. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be, and I didn't see it referenced anywhere. But this file was in the root directory of the installation CD so I copied it over to /lib/modules/ and the error message went away.
