Your tuner is known (it is a type 39) and supported (for autodetection, even) in current versions of ivtv. Note that using type 50 will give you problems with certain "transition" channels.
BTW, you might want to upgrade from 0.1.9 to the most current 0.2.0-rc release ( http://ivtv.no-ip.com/ ). Then, just make sure you adjust your module options--remove everything except:

Also, I was able to get the correct (or suggested) firmware. Everything seems
to be working better already.
One other question about the remote. Should I submit my lircd.conf to anyone for
my remote? Neither the lircd.conf or the lircd-g.conf worked for me. I have a
grey remote for a Wintv-pvr 250. I'll post it here if anyone is interested.
