Acording to a later post by John Harvey (if you missed that) that is not a problem as long as it fails with -512 > 2) The only drivers I have been able to get work with > MPlayer's ivtv patch > is 0.3.x series. If anyone is > running mythtv and core 3, please let me know what kernel, > driver version, > etc you are using. I will continue to investigate on this end. I'm using ivtv-0.3.1z (although it reports in dmesg as version 0.3.1 (y)), patched to run ivtv-fb on 2.6.9 on kernel 2.6.9-1.681_FC3 and mythtv-0.16-82.2.rhfc3.at Single pvr-350 on a 2.6 Athlon with 512Mb and 2*120Gb drives (All lvm, one 12Gb ext3 system partition, and the rest in a xfs video partition. X is running on the tv out of the PVR-350, no (X) output on the video card. Mythtv runs except for a few little niggles (and some major ones), I've not had a chance to really have a look to find out exactly why. Firstly mythbackend crashes, not found out (yet) exactly why it does so, no errors in the backend log or the syslog. Mythfrontend has crashed and taken the box with it (at least once), I suspect (but don't know) that it was the ivtv-fb driver rather than mythfrontend itself. No error messages in any of the Logs (but the debug lever for ivtv was set to 0 at the time.) On the niggles front: 1) mythtv wont record if watching live tv (the backend just crashes) 2) If you press record while watching live tv the screen blanks and is unresponsive, it does appear to record though. 3) if you view the osd (for example view the program guide while watching tv) when you exit the screen blanks but it will return if you go back to the menu then watch live tv again. At the moment I'm trying it without the ivtv-fb driver loaded (and not running X), just mythbackend running to see if that crashes, I've got A little script running to check the status and restart it if it dies (along with full mythtvbackend and ivtv debug messages and writing to a log everytime it restarts). I've got plans to use the xbox as a frontend anyway so if it doesn't crash I'll just use that for now.
