Found a fix quicker than I thought; don't know if it will "survive" a cold boot but hey, I got some stuff programmed to record right now so I'm happy for now :-)
try this: ivtvctl -I should give something like BAD SIGNAL with ptune-ui.pl, tune to good station. ivtvctl -I gave in my case: Sat/Dvd reboot your box. Hope this works for others as well. N.
