I had a problem with that. Generally you should avoid smp, 4k stacks and
preemption. My pvr-150 (pal) works ok but sound disappears after a
while...

Here's a script I use to load the modules, which I got from a helpful soul
on this list:
----------------------------------
#!/bin/bash
echo Loading IVTV drivers.
echo Loading tveeprom
modprobe tveeprom
sleep 1
echo Loading videodev
modprobe videodev
sleep 1
echo Loading cx25840
modprobe cx25840 i2c_enable=1
#sleep 1
echo Loading tuner
modprobe tuner
sleep 1
echo Loading wm8775
modprobe wm8775
sleep 1
echo Loading ivtv
modprobe ivtv ivtv_std=2 tuner=52
-----------------------------------
Of course you have to exchange the appropriate modules & options with the
ones that are appropriate for you, like 'modprobe msp3400' or 'ivtv_std=1'
(ntsc), tuner=? (39,40,47 are ntsc don't know about the others, although I
want to remember ntsc-users talking about 50 also).

Best regards
