yeah just in the way the stream is split up. PES for
example as a different wrapper than TS (TS is a
wrapper for several PES streams as is PS) There are
lots of sites out there that explain the differences
and how to decode the headers

but that's really all you'd expect them to be.. unless
some have restrictions (ie IF the dvd type limited the
bitrate and forced the audio 48kHz) but i haven't seen
any evidence of that. MPEG1 breaks if you give it
other than 320x240 i think, but it doesn't limit what
you can set.
