I've been looking at the cx25840 "b" driver and I think you are probably correct that there is a fundamental difference between the cards. I have been looking at the cx25840 "a" version because it partially works but I have not been able to determine how to modify the "b" version to make it work. I hope someone responds to your posting concerning the auto-generation of the registers for the other versions of the PVR 150.
