did you turn of 4Kstacks in the kernel hacking section of the kernel? that seems to be the usual suspect for hardlocks on load. Also some have had sucess loading the individual driver modules separately, by hand with a second or so in-between. We should probably figure out where the race is and fix it :)
No, never got around to recompiling a sans-4kstacks kernel on the FC boxes. Wanted to play with Debian some more anyhow. I did however try loading modules one by one with decent pauses in between them, and I did occasionally see slightly different behavior, but every time I got to ivtv itself, the box(es) running FC hard-locked (sometimes a kp w/flashing keyboard lights, sometimes just a hung system). Wish I had more time to work on this right now...
