Hi,

Freaky, you emailed me but when I reply your email address bounces. If you
are going to email how about using a real address?

Heya,

small ques, did you try the tuner 24? I'm at work now, so I can't test it
from here, but I think it might be really close. It's a FQ1216ME:

from tuner.h
#define TUNER_PHILIPS_FQ1216ME          24  /* you must actively select
B/G/D/K, I, L, L` */

Maybe it's pretty easy to mod the tuner.[ch] for the FQ1216AME MK4. I'm
willing to try, but have very little programming experience, none in C/C++,
I am not familiar with hardware nor electronics and/or their I/O.
Looking at the source code for the tuner cards I think I might be able to do
something with it, if someone can provide me with a datasheet. Doubt the
code in tuner.[ch] is all that's necessary tho'.

Regards

My reply:

I think I did try this but I am in a similar situation, I am not a
programmer or at least not in C/C++.

The thing I think I couldn't work out was if you do select Tuner 24 how do
you actively select one of the PAL/Secam options?

What would be ideal is if a programmer had a look and worked out what the
differences were between the FQ1216ME and FQ1216AME and modified the code
accordingly.

What do you think?

At the moment I am using mine with XP and while not completely happy with
the PVR software it does the trick. So if we can find a bit more info about
how to actively select the type then it'd be worth a shot.

Cheers
Grant

Here's the info you requested:

Hardware Model 23559
Driver Version 2.0.18.22316
Firmware Version 2.5.32
Audio Firmware Version 1.3.30

Model 23559 Rev D391
Serial No: 7743563

Tuner[1]: Model 91 (Philips FQ1216AME_MK4)
Tuner[2]: Model 101 (Philips TEA5768HL) (With Radio)
Tuner[1]: Model 91 (Philips FQ1216AME_MK4)
Decoder: 30
AudioIC 37

Input Map: C=0x000f S=0x0003

AMCAP gives me a lousy picture. Appearantly it won't allow me to set it to
PAL-B, but it could be that this is just because I don't run WinXP MCE as I
don't have it. Just running XP.

If anyone would like me to test something else on Windows plz let me know
soon. I need to empty the disk.

Regards
